eHome Technician Level 2
Wires, installs, terminates, tests, configures, programs, and troubleshoots CES structured wiring systems, control and audio-video systems, equipment racks, and dedicated home theaters by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Follows the lead of the Project Manager and Supervisor for daily project tasks and schedule.
Reads engineering drawings and project dashboard, and works with project team to wire, install, configure, and program the contracted system.
Reads technical manuals to ensure equipment is installed to manufacturer recommended specifications
Communicates the status and work performed on job site via shared dashboard on a daily basis, and timesheets on a weekly basis
Continuously monitors and responds via email, Slack, text messages and attends relevant meetings to stay actively involved and informed.
Uses manufacturer resources to resolve installation challenge
·Demonstrates respect for every client’s home and property
Upholds company reputation and policies when communicating with anyone outside the company.
Assist in customer education/training, when requested.
Observe or apply Safety practices and procedures (including ongoing job site maintenance and cleanliness practices and procedures)
Proficient in the “custom” aspects of installations, working with millwork and custom cabinetry, finish carpentry, seating, etc.
Advanced equipment rack and wire dressing (e.g., final trim lengths, labeling, terminations, etc.)
Installs modular connectors and wall plates for audio/video, data, and telephone applications.
Terminates cable on cross connects, patch panels, and devices in accordance with CES structured wiring standards using proper wire/cable/connector tools and approved connector installation techniques as well as correct connector pin-out standards.
Install and mount devices (including, but not limited to, user interface devices, control devices, architectural and theater speakers, structural/mechanical devices, mounting devices, aesthetic devices, display devices, and surveillance cameras)
Uses cable testing equipment and computer-based diagnostic tools to troubleshoot problems
Wires head end panel to e-home control system with a clear understanding of the end result.
Configuration, Programming, and Testing:
Configure and document state-of-the-art managed wired and wireless networks, including WAN port configuration, VLANs, DHCP pool management, IP/MAC address reservations in routers, managed switches, and WAPs.
Control4 programming including smart TV integration with local sources as well as distributed audio/video, device identification and control over IP/IR/RS232/Zigbee, and integration with HVAC, lighting, security, and surveillance systems.
IP Camera and NVR configuration, and control system integration.
Sonos, video source, and AVR (Audio-Video Receiver) configuration and control system integration
Lutron RadioRA2 and Homeworks QS lighting, shades, and keypad configuration and programming
Ability to verify full operation and troubleshoot issues with completed systems and identify complex issues
Network cabling and or residential structured wiring (termination)
Advanced programming of networking equipment, control and lighting systems
3-Years on job experience within a similar discipline.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
