Wires, installs, terminates, tests, configures, and troubleshoots CES structured wiring systems, control and audio-video systems, equipment racks, and dedicated home theaters by performing the following duties:
Observe or apply Safety practices and procedures (including ongoing job site maintenance and cleanliness practices and procedures)
Work with experienced CES technicians in the custom aspects of installations, working with millwork and custom cabinetry, finish carpentry, seating, etc.
Basic equipment rack and wire dressing (e.g., final trim lengths, labeling, terminations, etc.)
Install and terminate modular connectors and wall plates for audio/video, data, and telephone applications.
Terminate cable on cross connects, hubs, and routers in accordance with CES structured wiring standards using proper wire/cable/connector tools and approved connector installation techniques as well as correct connector pin-out standards.
Install and mount devices (including, but not limited to, interface devices, control devices, transducers, structural/mechanical devices, mounting devices, aesthetic devices, architectural devices, display devices, surveillance cameras, etc.)
Use cable testing equipment to troubleshoot problems
Wires head end panel to e-home control system with a clear understanding of the end result.
Configuration and Testing
Test and troubleshoot basic unmanaged wired and wireless networks.
Configure smart TVs and source devices including Blu-ray players and streaming video sources
Assists with device identification and troubleshooting control over IP/IR/RS232/Zigbee.
Set network parameters, angle, focus, and zoom on IP Cameras
Basic configuration and testing of audio/video Sources, and AVRs (Audio-Video Receiver) including AVR surround sound speaker configuration, time alignment, phase, and levels.
Lutron RadioRA2 and Homeworks QS shade limit setting, keypad temporary labelling and engraving installation, and testing of lighting and shade system functionality.
Ability to verify full operation and troubleshoot issues with completed systems and identify complex issues
Network cabling and or residential structured wiring (pre-wire)
Network cabling and or residential structured wiring (termination)
12 Months on job experience at CES, or equivalent within a similar discipline.
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
